Sometimes the things we love have a way of finding us again.

More than 20 years ago, I owned a small candle company. My career eventually took me in another direction, and I spent two and a half decades working in tech. But candle making never completely disappeared. Over the years, I continued hand pouring candles for myself, friends and family simply because I loved creating them.

This past year brought some profound changes and reminded me just how little time is guaranteed. When I stepped away from corporate life, I found myself thinking differently about what I wanted the next chapter to look like.

I knew I wanted to build something meaningful, creative and rooted in the islands.

While developing another small business, I went looking for candles that combined the quality, aesthetic and sense of place I had in mind. I couldn't quite find them.

So I decided to make a few myself.

Those few candles brought me right back to something I'd loved more than 20 years ago. Only this time, I had the space to really make it my own.

Kapaʻa Candle Co. grew from that idea: beautifully crafted candles inspired by the places, experiences and memories that make Hawaiʻi unforgettable.

Every detail is intentional, from our premium coconut-soy wax and phthalate-free fragrance oils to natural Portuguese cork, eco-conscious packaging and the story behind every scent.

Each candle is hand poured on Kauaʻi with a simple hope: that when you light it, you're transported somewhere. Maybe it's a place you've been, an experience with family or loved ones you never want to forget, or an island you're already dreaming of returning to.

Creating Kapaʻa Candle Co. has brought me back to something I love, and I hope each candle does a little of the same for you, bringing you back to a place, a memory or a feeling you love.
