It starts miles back on the Kalalau Trail. Red dirt that stains everything it touches. Stream crossings, switchbacks, legs burning in the heat. Then the trail narrows to Crawler’s Ledge, a thin path cut into the face of the cliff.
One careful step at a time, the cliff at your shoulder, the ocean impossibly far below. The air smells of rain-soaked basalt, damp red clay, and the faint salt of the sea. It’s wild and grounding all at once, the particular aliveness that only comes from being somewhere most people will never go.

Candle Care
- Trim your wick to ¼ inch before every burn
- On the first light, let the wax melt almost all the way to the edges — this sets the memory of the wax and prevents tunneling
- Burn for no more than 4 hours at a time
- Keep away from drafts, direct sunlight, children, and pets
- Retire the candle when ¼ inch of wax remains, then clean the vessel and give it a new life
